Notches of the Spine, Treading of the Wheel

saxophone neon radiance
cigarette dangling by a lip’s saving grace
long slim fingers gently plowing against
the notches of my spine
two serpents of polarity interlace
what seeds of thought will you grow
a movement beckoning me to follow
what was, is, and will be germinating in line

my face fragmented in the rings of saturn
crushing its own cracking moon
orbiting fractions of reflections saying not now
but soon
bubbling in a vat of cosmic indifference
quantum foam building up in my brain
another deity saying do it again
stuck in the spokes of the wheel of samsara
my mouth, Vesta’s altar for a lit virgin cigarette near its end
trying to ignore the calling of your fingers
staring into the abyss of the saxophone
my face distorted into a line of another ring
a brass portal pouring frequencies
telling me to do it again
